One Day I'll Come Home

From town to town and state to state
There’s people everywhere that try to capture us
We stole the cash and left our names
And almost slipped in Indianapolis
The rain it fell, the story went on
The rain it fell, and we got gone
Poughkeepsie, hang up the telephone
Won’t answer your phone calls no more
New York quit callin’, New York leave me be
Changing the plans that I’ve been setting on
I’m scared by the way that my life is getting gone
Carolina one day I’ll, someday I’ll come home

I LOVE this picture. Reminds me of a lovely little daydream I had on the way home from the beach (passing through all those weird little rural habitations)one time. It started to morph into a story-- didn't make it very far, but it's still one of my little imaginings to keep me company.

And I love that the Avetts are from the Carolinas :) Take that, Washington!

And.. everywhere else! Florida may have claimed Iron & Wine, but he was born in SC and we won't let anyone forget it. Or... something. ;-)
