Rememberance

when we left your house in buffalo you gave us a stack of playboys from the 1970s. told us: a van of boys needs girlie magazines. you beautiful redhead you.

i bet you can whistle with two fingers. and if you cant, i bet you'd have fun letting someone teach you.

you are a back porch, a front stoop. a summer night string of lights. a summer night loud and quiet. a big back field of a party once the party has trickled down to the elbows and everyone is smiles and talking, watching the stars watch us from afar. fire and shine, fire and shine.

Wonderwall

"Brooding Woman" - Picasso
And all the roads we have to walk are winding
And all the lights that lead the way are blinding
There are many things that I would
Like to say to you
But I don't know how
And after all, you're my wonderwall

The Tourist

"When did you start smoking?"
"I'm in the midst of quitting."
She tapped one out for him, but before handing it over said, "Is it the drugs that do it to you? Or the job?"
"Do what?"
"Maybe it's all the names." She handed over the cigarette. "Maybe that's what's made you so cold. When you were Milo, you were a different person."
He blinked at her, thinking, but no reply came to him.

Justify

“I don’t mean to justify anything harmful that I feel or do. I am ready to be profoundly sorry.”
